Index aims to assist companies in defining, evaluating and monitoring their economic, social and environmental impact. It enables companies to receive feedback and compare their results with those of other companies, thus identifying the future needs for development. To participate companies are asked to fill out the evaluation questionnaire which can be accessed on the following link (in Estonian). Evaluation is very similar to that of BITC index, following the 4-part structure: business strategy, integration of CR principles, issues management, stakeholder reporting & communication. For the first time companies’ results will be ranked based on their performance. "The aim of CR ranking is to recognise good performance. It will also enable us to compare the CR ranking results with Äripäev’s TOP 100 companies ranking that is based on economic performance and see whether there is any correlation between the social responsibility of a company and its economic success", explains Elina Rääsk from Responsible Business Forum. Companies, big and small are invited to take part in the index by submitting a form by March 2nd. The results of CR index will be announced on April 27th followed by Good case practice dissemination seminar. The Corporate Social Responsibility Index was initiated in Estonia in 2007 autumn by Äripäev and the Responsible Business Forum. At the first pilot year 14 companies took part in compiling the index. The results of the first year can be accessed here.
